Boxing was first included in the Olympic Games in 1904.The sport of boxing is often thought of as a way to solve disputes or more commonly as a way to entertain crowds. In actuality, the art of boxing is a sport which requires skilled training at an elite level. The training regimen is used to build discipline in all aspects of the boxer’s life. Mental toughness, dedication, and perseverance are characteristics required to master the sport.

Coach Boom

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Coach Boom started boxing at the age of ten. As a child he grew up appreciating male mentors who dedicated time to him to provide experiences and opportunities that would help shape him as an adult. Those experiences along with his childhood upbringing have uniquely qualified him to coach boxing at an elite level. He uses the fundamentals of the sport to support youth with overcoming challenges. He welcomes the opportunity to help youth with realizing the possibility of a bright prosperous future. Over the past 15 years Coach Boom has worked with countless youth using boxing as a means to promote positive change. Boxing has allowed Coach Boom to motivate and cultivate camaraderie among team members. Team members and parents have opened up to him about the impact of the sports program on their lives
